永不回归的“真实”——从《智血》中的凝视谈起

摘　　要：美国南方女作家弗兰纳里·奥康纳（1925～1964）的小说《智血》中遍布着凝视现象。凝视对主人公黑兹尔·莫茨主体性的确立及其心理成长历程产生了不可磨灭的影响。来自于家庭和社会的潜在的凝视使其意识到自我的存在，并根据他者的期许来塑造自我，但凝视同时也标志着主人公终其一生都无法弥补的缺失。奥康纳通过这部作品揭示出，人类永远无法真正找到自我，永远无法回归真实界，找回最初的“圆满”。The phenomenon of gaze pervades the first novel of American Southern female novelist Flannery O＇ Connor, Wise Blood. On the one hand, gaze has the everlasting influence on the establishment of subjectivity and the psychological development of the protagonist Hazel Motes. The underlying gaze from the family and the society makes him realize the existence of his self and shapes himself according to the expectation from the other. On the other hand, gaze marks lack that will never be filled throughout his life. Through this novel, O＇ Connor reveals that human beings could never find their real self. They can never return to the real and find the original completeness back.
