摘　　要：英语复合新构词是英语新词的一个类别,其构成方式及阐释原理都遵循了隐喻认知机制,同时又深刻地反映了隐喻思维是人类思维的特征,是人类认知世界的方式。本文运用大量语料来论证隐喻思维是英语复合新构词生成的内在动力。English new compound words are one specific type of English new words.Its' ways of formation and the interpretation system on it both follow metaphorical cognitive mechanism,and meanwhile reflect that metaphorical thinking is universal and a basic way to cognize the world.This article uses examples to elaborate that metaphorical thinking is the driving force for the generation of English new words.
