从文学伦理学批评视角解读《土生子》

摘　　要：《土生子》是非裔美国文学的一座里程碑。从文学伦理学批评视角解读该小说的伦理意义,为重估它的文学价值提供一种新的视角。该书以别格.托马斯犯罪和认罪的过程表现出伦理禁忌的失范不仅不能有效地规范社会行为,相反这些禁忌会导致人们失去维系伦理价值观的基本理性。这一事实揭示出伦理失范已经成为了危害社会的犯罪诱因。别格无法逃脱死亡的厄运说明无论社会对触犯法律的个人负有多大的责任,他都不能任由自己的暴力冲动去杀人越货。因此别格的悲剧命运是他破坏社会安定秩序的行为必须付出的代价。Native Son is a milestone in African America Literature.To criticize it from the perspective of ethical literary criticism presents a new perspective to reevaluate its literary value nowadays.It is via the process in which Bigger Thomas committed murders and later confessed his guilt that the book reveals the fact that the anomie of ethical taboos can not regulate social orders effectively but get people involved in losing their rationality to maintain the ethical value.Such ethical anomie thus turns out to be the most threatening criminal potentials.As Bigger＇s fate of death indicates,no matter how much responsibility the society should take,it is not the reason that one should commit crimes with the impulse of violence.Therefore,Bigger＇s tragic fate is the inevitable cost he has to pay since he undermines social stability and order.
