摘　　要：20世纪20年代末创建的上海佛慈药厂是中药西制的开创者之一,数十年来一直致力于此。作者分析了中药西制出现的时代背景,记述了佛慈药厂的成立过程、主要工作以及所产生的社会影响,并由此引出了对中药科学化的一点思考。The Great China Chemical Works Ltd., which was founded in 1929, is one of the pioneers of the manufacture of Chinese patent medicines using Western technology, and has been committed to this for decades. This article reviews the background to this change in Chinese patent medicines, and the foundation, main works, and social impact of the Great China Chemical Works Ltd. The authors also present some ideas on the scientization of Chinese patent medicines.
