Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of low-field MRI for injuries of knee-joint and its adjunct Structures. Methods The MRI findings of 96 patients with injuries of knee-joint and its adjunct Structures were retrospectively analyzed. The cases were divided into fracture and non-fracture groups according to the X-ray plain film. Results Among 34 cases of fracture demonstrated by X-ray plain film,14 patellar fractures were associated with 13 adjunct structures injuries;9 tibial fractures associated with 18 adjunct structures injuries;6 femoral fractures associated with 7 adjunct structures injuries;5 multiple fractures associated with 18 adjunct structures injuries.Adjunct structures injures resulted from the multiple fractures and tibial fracture involved multiple parts.62 cases of non-fracture by X-ray plain film,43 meniscal injuries,42 ligament injuries and 9 disruption of articular cartilage were found on MRI.The difference between two groups was significant by χ2-testing(P0.05).Conclusion Low-field MRI is valuable in diagnosing for injuries of knee-joint and its adjunct structures of different types, the adjunct structures injuries resulted from multiple fractures and tibial fractures were most severe.
