摘  要:The damage of aramid fibers occurs easily in torsion fatigue.So the effects of temperature and pre-tension on the torsion fatigue lifetimes of Nomex and Kevlar 49 fibers were characterized and compared by twist testing.The experimental results show that there is a linear relationship between the logarithm of the fatigue lifetime and the pre-tension,and an exponential attenuation with the raise of temperature,respectively;and the torsion fatigue lifetime of Nomex is distinctly longer than that of Kevlar 49 at every test condition,but it is less sensitive to the variation of the pre-tension and temperature.The damage of aramid fibers occurs easily in torsion fatigue.So the effects of temperature and pre-tension on the torsion fatigue lifetimes of Nomex and Kevlar 49 fibers were characterized and compared by twist testing.The experimental results show that there is a linear relationship between the logarithm of the fatigue lifetime and the pre-tension,and an exponential attenuation with the raise of temperature,respectively; and the torsion fatigue lifetime of Nomex is distinctly longer than that of Kevlar 49 at every test condition,but it is less sensitive to the variation of the pre-tension and temperature.
