In view of higher concentration of residual Al and difficulty to remove turbidity when dealing raw water with low temperature and low turbidity, compound bioflocculant(CBF) was used to treat the low temperature and low turbidity raw water by orthogonal experiments. The effects of CBF dosage, coagulation aid(CaCl2) dosage,pH,hydraulic conditions of coagulation and sedimentation time were studied on the removal rate of turbidity and aluminum by L16(45) orthogonal design. The results showed that the order of the factors affecting the removal rate of turbidity and aluminum from strong to weak was pH,hydraulic conditions of coagulation, sedimentation time, coagulation aid(CaCl2) dosage and CBF dosage. The optimum conditions for flocculation were that CBF dosage 10 mg/L,coagulation aid(CaCl2) dosage 1.5 mg/L,pH 8.0,hydraulic conditions of coagulation: the stir speed 160 r/min,the stir time 40 s,sedimentation time 30 min by the analysis and verification experiments, when the removal rate of turbidity and aluminum was 88.34% and 92.43% respectively. The results provide basic data and technical support for treating low temperature and low turbidity water by CBF.
