摘　　要：简要介绍国内外特殊土与边坡研究的总体态势,重点综述近年来我国在湿陷性黄土、膨胀土与红黏土等典型特殊土的基本性质与工程实践研究现状,评述土质边坡研究取得的主要研究进展,并指出当前特殊土与边坡研究领域存在的主要问题,提出今后研究的主要趋势,文后列出了较详细的有关文献。A brief introduction is provided on the overall trend of the global-wide research on special soils and slopes with a particular emphasis on the state of the practice in China on basic properties and engineering countermeasures for typical special soils such as collapsible loess, expansive soil and red clay. Recent achievements are pointed out as well as the major remaining problems in the field of special soils and slopes. The future research direction is also identified and a long list of relevant references is provided in the end of the paper.
