摘 要:从《山海经》等早期文学典籍到唐传奇和明清小说中的白猿形象,经历了从单纯的珍奇动物到淫邪好色的猿精、修道练气的灵猿的演变,最终定型为看守和传授天书的仙猿角色。促成这一演变过程的主要原因,一是天书和白猿皆与道教有关;二是白猿本身所具有的诸多有利因素;三是古代的白色动物崇拜。在白猿传书模式的背后,是白猿形象逐渐"社会化"的过程。The images of white apes change from rare animals in "Shan Hai Jing" and other early literary classics to the monstrous apes and coenobitic apes in the Legend of Tang Dynasty,and finally to the celestial apes which guard and impart the Book of Heaven in the fictions of Ming and Qing Dynasty.The main factors contributing to this evolution are the close relationship among the white ape,the Book of Heaven and the Taoism,the influence of "Huangshigong the old sage imparting strategic" tale,the advantageous traits of white ape itself and the white animal worship in ancient China.The changing of the images of white apes indicates that they are in the process of being "socialized".
