摘　　要：历史人物和事件的真实性是一种客观存在,而他们的文化意义却可以不断地与时俱进。自晚明以来,学界曾将王徵前后诠释为"忠臣义士"、"科学家"、"天主教徒"等几种不同的历史形象,而在当代的文化语境下,似乎更应被诠释为"跨文化传播者",因为其跨文化传播的活动对于当今文化进程产生了一定的促进作用。这种评价的转变和王徵历史形象的再次变更,也说明了史学研究反映时代精神,并随时代发展而深入的特质。The authenticity of historical figures and events is an objective reality,and their cultural significance keeps to the times.Since the Late Ming Dynasty,Wang Zheng has been interpreted by the academic fields as different historical images,such as loyal and righteous official,scientist,Catholic,etc.But in nowadays cultural context,his image seems more likely to be interpreted as a ＂cross-cultural communicators,＂ in that his cross-cultural activities have certain inspirations for today＇s culture development.This new evaluation,together with several changes of his historical image,shows that historical research should reflect the spirit of the times and develops with the times.
