摘　　要：Linux作为一种自由和开放源码的类Unix操作系统,越来越受到广大编程者的青睐,而GNU图像处理程序(GIMP,GNU Image Manipulation Program)工具包(GTK+,GIMP Tool Kit)作为一套跨多种平台的图形工具包,在被GNU网络对象模型环境(GNOME,The GNU Network Object Model Enviroment)选中作为Linux下图形开发界面的主流开发工具之一后,由于其优越的性质也是广为流传。通过对GTK+编程技术的研究,运用套接字接口,再结合多线程技术,构建了一个简单的聊天室。验证表明,该聊天室可以实现服务器端和客户端的聊天功能。As a free and open source Unix-like operating system,Linux is increasingly favored by the majority of programmers,and as a set of graphical toolkits across multiple platforms,GTK＋（GNU Image Manipulation Program Tool Kit） becomes extremely popular for its superior properties after being chosen by GNOME（The GNU Network Object Model Environment） as one of the principal development tools for graphical development interface under Linux environment.With the study of GTK＋ programming techniques and the use of the socket interface,and in combination with multithreading technology,a simple chat room is constructed.Experiment shows that this chat room could achieve communication between the server and the client.
