摘　　要：美国的西进运动在美国的文明发展史上有着划时代的意义。它运用资本主义的生产方式开发了美国西部。尽管西进运动对于印第安人造成了精神上和肉体上的迫害,但是从经济意义上看,它深入到美国农业,交通运输业和工业方面,从而促进了美国经济的全面繁荣,增强了美国的经济实力。The westward movement is an epoch-making event in the development of American civilization.Using the capitalist productive way,the westward movement explores the American West.Although it is accompanied by crimes against the native Indians,many of whom are killed off or driven to the western areas,the westward movement extends its far-reaching influence to the economic development.It not only improves the scale and level of agriculture,provides possibilities and needs of transportation,but also brings enormous advancement to the industrial expansion,and thus lead to the bloom of American economy and the power of the United States.
