摘　　要：Wuthering Heights is the only novel of Emily Bronte.It tells a love story that makes readers' hearts moved.The story begins with Lockwood,who comes to the Wuthering Heights and meets the local people by accident.His housekeeper,Nelly Dean tells him the story about Heathcliff and Catharine:Catharine and Heathcliff love each other,but because of the reality,they couldn't get together at last,Heathliff changes his love into hate and begin to takes revenge on the people around him.This paper will analyze Catharine's character by studying the background and her living environment.In addition,there is a close relationship between Catharine's character and her maker Emily and between character and environment.One could change his character while the environment changes,but the nature could never change.Therefore,everyone is an aggregate of contradictions.Wuthering Heights is the only novel of Emily Bronte.It tells a love story that makes readers＇ hearts moved.The story begins with Lockwood,who comes to the Wuthering Heights and meets the local people by accident.His housekeeper,Nelly Dean tells him the story about Heathcliff and Catharine：Catharine and Heathcliff love each other,but because of the reality,they couldn＇t get together at last,Heathliff changes his love into hate and begin to takes revenge on the people around him.This paper will analyze Catharine＇s character by studying the background and her living environment.In addition,there is a close relationship between Catharine＇s character and her maker Emily and between character and environment.One could change his character while the environment changes,but the nature could never change.Therefore,everyone is an aggregate of contradictions.
