摘　　要："美国梦"的破灭是菲茨杰拉德创作的一贯主题。奇幻之作《返老还童》以一个传奇性的故事处理了一个关于生命的严肃思考:人生正如"美国梦"的幻灭,从憧憬,到获得,到最后失去。作者通过本杰明"返老还童"的一生告诉人们:一切表面的虚华都会消失,所有美好的事物终将走向灭亡,人们用尽平生追求的梦想只是幻影,返老还童也不能带来永恒的美好。The disillusionment of ＂America Dream＂ is the consistent subject that Fitzgerald prefers to use.The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,a fantasy work,deals with a serious thinking about life by a legendary story： Life is like the disillusionment of ＂America dream＂— from looking forward to something to obtaining something,and finally to losing something.By the life story of Benjamin＇s rejuvenation,the author tells us that all the superficial prosperity will disappear,and all the good things will eventually vanish.The dream that Human beings use all life to pursue is only a phantom.Even rejuvenation can not bring the eternal happiness.
