摘　　要：在薇拉·凯瑟的代表作《我的安东妮亚》中,安东妮亚是一位来自波希米亚的移民女孩,历经生活的艰辛,最终成为一个幸福的母亲。而吉姆.伯登,一个受过高等教育的成功律师,却在生活上遭受不幸。分析表明,吉姆.伯登婚姻悲剧的根源在于其人格发展受到了恋母情结的影响。In Willa Cather＇s masterpiece My Antonia, the heroine Antonia, an immigrant girl from Bohe- mia, experiences great hardships but eventually becomes a blissful mother. However, the protagonist Jim Burden, a successful lawyer who has received college education, is trapped in an unhappy marriage and has no children. An analysis by Lacan＇s theories of psychoanalysis shows that Jim＇s personality development is deeply influenced by his Oedipus complex, thus causing the failure in his marriage.
