摘　　要：“民主社会主义”这个词对我国公众来说并不陌生，但倘若问到这一主义的思想、纲领、政策、历史演变及其当代状况，恐怕许多人都不甚了了。虽然改革开放以来，从一批在这个领域里长期潜心耕耘的学者开始，学术界在这些问题的研究上取得了重要进展，但他们的成果一般只限于在发行量有限的专业出版物上流传，很少有机会进入专业之外的读者的视野；There have been varied misunderstandings on the question 'what is democratic socialism'.To examine the history of democratic socialism during the past century and more,neither 'betrayal of Marxism'nor 'orthodoxy of Marxism'is out of accord with fact.The evolution of democratic socialism reflects an objective historical process of interaction between socialist mainstream and capitalism in a developed industrial area.We need research more in-depth of it.However,it is an unpractical fantasy to introduce it by applauding in order to accelerate democracy in our country.Democracy is a system which is very helpful to the lower people's immediate interests and therefore depends on their own consciousness and long-term hard struggle.
