摘　　要：亨利.詹姆斯文学理论的一个显著特点是带有认识论思想的知觉艺术,这一艺术理念在其代表作《一位女士的画像》中得以充分诠释。对他而言,知觉是一种在质疑、反思、诠释过程中了解真相的途径;文学人物在认知世界的过程中借助知觉的力量成长并变得成熟。本文针对女主人公伊莎贝尔.阿切尔的知觉世界展开论述。作者认为,尽管伊莎贝尔的婚姻是一个失败,但是在经受了痛苦曲折的认知过程——反思对自由的理解、审视生活及承认并最终接受人生不可避免的局限性后,伊莎贝尔逐渐走向真正的成熟。One of the prominent characteristics in Henry James＇ s literary theory could be best summarized as perceptual art of an epistemological dimension, which James tried by all means to amplify in The Portrait of a Lady. Perception, for James the writer, is a way of knowing truth in the course of questioning, reflection and interpretation. The characters, empowered with the perceptive experience, learns and grows This article, therefore, is to focus on the perceptual world of Isabel Archer, with an attempt to highlight through the tortuous perceptual development, Isabel Archer reaches her true maturity, in exercis dom, examining and re-examining life, and consequently accepting the necessary limits, despite the fact that ing her free- the fact that her marriage turns out to be a failure.
