摘  要:轮船曾是帝国主义列强争夺世界市场和落后国家权益的重要工具。1895年马关条约的签订和随后列强迫使清政府签订的一系列条约,使列强在华攫取到了更多航运特权。随之,以新起的帝国主义国家与老牌帝国主义国家航运势力的争夺,列强间不同国家以及不同轮船公司间的争夺,帝国主义列强航运势力彼此间的消长冲突,构成这一期间中国轮船航运业的多个场景。Steamships are the important tools for imperialist powers to capture world market and interests in backward countries. After the signing of Treaty of Maguan in 1895 and a series of treaties signed by late Ching Government under coercion, more privileges on navigation in China were seized by foreign superpowers. During this period, many scenes in China shipping industry were set by the fight between emerging powers and old-line imperialists, the fight among various steamship companies from various countries, and the conflicts and the ebb and flow of superpowers in the industry.
