摘　　要："新生代的外来工"是城市经济发展的主力军,他们的成长和发展对图书馆有着强烈的信息需求。对"新生代外来工"进行信息需求的援助,既是图书馆内在本质和作用的体现,同时也能促进和谐城市的发展。因此,作为社会认知机构的公共图书馆,应为其提供包括开展图书外借和流动图书馆服务、对口就业信息服务、开展相关培训以及以心理咨询为主的信息援助措施和方法,实现"新生代外来工"、图书馆以及城市的共同发展。＂New migrant workers＂ are major force for city economic development, and their growth and development urgently need information from libraries. Assisting new migrant workers in information need can not only embody intrinsic nature and role of library, but also promote the harmonious development of the city. Therefore, as a cognitive organization, public libraries should supply services such as book borrowing , mobile library, counterpart employment information, related job training and psychological counseling, in order to promote the common development of ＂the new migrant workers＂, the library and the city.
