摘　　要：清末,商部(农工商部)大力推行农业改良政策和措施,编发的《棉业图说》是一部倡导棉业改良的书籍,全书共八卷,语言通俗易懂,间配插图,内容涉及中外棉业考略,着重介绍棉业改良的核心——植棉技术的改良要领.《棉业图说》的编发对清末棉业的发展起到积极的推动作用.At the end of Qing Dynasty, the department of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce had made great efforts on improving policy and measures of agriculture. And the book Illustrated Book by Pictures which is published by the department advocated the improvement of cotton industry. The whole book includes eight volumes, which expression is easy to he understood. The content of this book relates to chinese cotton reserch and foreign cotton industry. There are some pictures in some important parts to introduce the core of how to improve the cotton industry and the main improved methods of planting cotton. The book Illustrated Book by Pictures played an very important role in improving the cotton industry at the end of Qing Dynasty.
