摘　　要：族裔身份的追寻与建构是美国华裔女性小说作品中的重要主题之一,从黄玉雪到汤亭亭、谭恩美,再到任璧莲,她们的作品中大都反映了作者自己对美国华裔身份的理想建构。任璧莲的第二部长篇小说《梦娜在希望之乡》中,女儿梦娜对多元族裔身份的自由选择与建构反映了不同时代、不同语境下第二代美国华裔的族裔身份观与第一代华裔移民的差异,开辟了美国族裔身份建构的新视角。The pursuit and construction of ethnic identity is one of the major themes in the works of Chinese- American women writers. From Jade Snow Wong, Maxine Hong Kingston, Amy Tan to Gish Jen, most of their works reflect their ideal construction of cultural identity for Chinese Americans. Mona, the heroine in Gish Jen＇s second novel Mona in the Promised Land, struggles to pursue and construct a multi-cultural identity, which reflects a different attitude from the first generation of Chinese Americans. This also opens up a new perspective in the study of American ethnic identity.
