摘　　要：薇拉·凯瑟《教授的房子》是一部具有现代主义精神的小说,不仅表达了现代人在启蒙现代性挤压下的异化、绝望和焦虑,还以独特的审美视角,努力追寻审美救赎,倡导解放自然,回归感性,寻求诗意人生,从而修复启蒙现代性过度发展所造成的缺损。这些见解一方面揭示了启蒙现代性的阴暗面,另一方面展现出艺术作品所承担的救赎功能,具有经久不衰的价值。Willa Cather＇s The Professor＇s House is a novel with modernist spirit. It not only presents modern men＇s alienation, despair and anxiety under the crush of enlightenment modernity, and also endeavors to seek aesthetic redemption, call for poetic life, liberation of nature and return to sensibility from a unique aesthetic perspective, so as to repair the defects caused by the excessive development of enlightenment modernity. These ideas are valuable to reveal the dark side of enlightenment modernity and highlight the redemptive function of artistic work.
