摘　　要：The four favorite plants of the Chinese are the plum, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo plants. They represent the four seasons and, in Confucian ideology, the four aspects of thejunzi （＂gentlemen＂ or ＂noble one＂）. The four are always called the ＂four gentlemen＂ plants because the Chinese admire their gracious virtues. The patterns of such plants are used extensively in decoration and clothing. The patterns are not only decorative but also symbolize a way of life.梅兰竹菊被称为“花中四君子“。”花中四君子”有着幽、坚、淡的品质，清华其外，澹泊其中。他们不仅是中国人感物喻志的象征，也是诗歌和画作中最常见的题材。
