摘　　要：通过文献梳理,旨在逐一论述19世纪末20世纪初美国体育界致力于体育科学化发展的杰出人物———达德利.艾伦.萨金特的体育生平、体育思想、体育实践以及对他的评价:他是美国近代体育科学化的先驱者,是世界上第一位从预防医学角度研究体育的体育教育家和医学家;他在确立体育教育课程和体育科学体系等方面都做出了杰出的贡献,对美国体育教育乃至世界体育教育产生了巨大的影响。Through literature reviews, the paper aims to study Dudley Alan Sargent （outstanding character in American sports filed at the turn of the century committed to the development of sports science） of his sports life, thought, practice and comments on him. He is the pioneer of American sports science and sports educationalist and the medical scientist who first researched sports from the angle of preventive medicine in the world. He contributed greatly to the establishment of P. E. courses and sports science system and he influenced American and even the world physical education.
