摘　　要：针对现有环境信息元数据标准和电子文件元数据标准难以充分反映环境保护档案信息资源特点的问题,首先分析了环境保护档案的类型,提出了一种基于核心元数据的可扩展的环境保护档案元数据模型。接着研究了环境保护档案核心元数据及其扩展模式。以文件级环境影响评价档案元数据为例,最后阐述了环境保护档案元数据逐级扩展的方法与过程。It is hard to adequately describe characteristics of environmental protection archives （EPA） using the existing environmental information metadata or electric documents metadata. This paper puts forward an extensible EPA metadata model after and analyses types of EPA. In this model, the metadata can be extended to cater for representing individual characteristics of special EPA based on the core metadata according to uniform extension mechanism. The core metadata of EPA combines generic envi- ronmental information metadata elements with electric documents metadata elements so that it can not only express content, service and usage information but also reflect archives inherent characters of authenticity, integrality and validity etc. Finally, taking environmental impact assessment archives as example, this paper demonstrates the detailed process of metadata extension step by step.
