摘　　要：通过对全国 85所主要高等医药院校图书馆 1990 - 1998年外文期刊订购量的动态变化研究 ,发现外文期刊订购量呈逐年下降趋势 ,并对下降的主要原因和可能导致的不良后果进行了分析 ,认为应尽快采取切实可行的措施 ,确保质量高、信息量大的外文期刊的订购 ,并实现文献资源共享 ,以最大限度地满足读者对国外医学信息不断增长的需求。By studying the dynamic changes in acquisition quantity of foreign periodicals in 85 main medical college and university libraries from 1990 to 1998,the acquisition reduction was found in foreign periodicals.After analyzing its main factors the authors pointed out that,the effective measures should be taken to ensure the necessary number of foreign periodicals so that the readers' increasing needs for medical information could be met.
