摘　　要：GU Chaohao, a renowned Chinese mathematician, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and laureate of the National Supreme Science and Technology Award, passes awayGU Chaohao, a renowned Chinese mathematician, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and laureate of the National Suprelne Science and Technology Award, passes away in Shanghai on June 24, 2012. Born in 1926 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, GU received his doctorate in physics and mathematics from Moscow State University in 1959, and had been primarily engaged in the research on differential geometry, partial differential equations and mathematical physics.
