论湖湘文化的精神品格和历史局限

摘　　要：湖湘文化是湖南历代士人用独特的睿智、深邃的思维、理性的思考、生花的妙笔堆砌而成的文化宝塔,在它的文化潜质里到处流淌着湖南士人的文化气息和价值追求。使得湖湘文化既具有忧国忧民的强烈情感,崇尚实学、经世致用的优良学风,"气化日新"、自强不息的奋斗精神,抵御外侮、卓砺敢死的优良品格;又具有重政治、轻经济,重经世致用、轻人文关怀,重程朱理学、个人气节,轻大局意识、和谐观念,重"夷夏之辨",轻海纳百川的不利文化因素。这种优劣互存的文化品性,使得忧国忧民、追求进步、卓砺敢死的湖南人在民族危亡的关键时刻,往往挺身而出,勇于献身,成为挽救民族危亡的领头羊,而在和平时期,湖南人则往往默默无闻;湖南社会也常常呈现出保守与激进、落后与进步交相辉映的奇特局面。The Huxiang culture is a kind of cultural pagoda which constructed by Hunan ancient scholars with their unique of wise, deep of thinking, rational of thinking, rational thinking and their surprisingly delicate touch. In its cultural value, the cultural breath and value pursuit of Hunan scholar existed everywhere. Huxiang culture both has the intense emotion of con- cerning about one＇s country and one＇s people, advocating the advanced learning style of real learning and humanistic pragmatism and pay much attention to politics and neglect economics. The cultural features of the advantages and disadvantages made the Hunan people put themselves forward when challenged and dedicated to the country and became the bellwether to save the na- tion in peril. In times of peace, Hunan people are often unknown and unsung and the Hunan society also takes on a strange sit- uation of enhancing each other＇s beauty of conservatism and radicalism and backward and progress.
