Objective To evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of emergent percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) nursing with transradial and transfemoral approaches in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods A total of 103 AMI patients with PCI were selected and divided into transradial coronary intervention(TRI) group(n=53) and transfemoral coronary intervention(TFI) group(n=49).Incidence of postoperative complications, duration of hospital stay, nursing workload, mental and physical comfort after emergent PCI between two groups were statistically analyzed. Results There was no statistical difference of basic characteristics between the two groups. The complications was lower in TRI group(3.8%) than in TFI group(8.2%)(P〈0.05).The hospital duration was significantly shorter in TRI group than in TFI group(P〈0.05).The nursing workload in TRI group was less than that in TFI group(P〈0.05).Postoperative mental and physical comfort of patients in TRI group was obviously higher than that in TFI group. Conclusion The emergent PCI treatment with transradial approach is safe and effective.Compared with TFI approach,TRI can reduce the incidence of complications, shorten the duration of hospital stay, improve a rapid recovery of patients, reduce nursing workload and economize nursing resources. Thus TRI is good for both of patients and nurses.
