Objective To investigate the influence of simavastatin on microinflammation and nutrition indicators in uremia patients without dialysis. Methods Eighty-six uremia patients witout dialysis from our hospital were randomly divided into statin treatment group and control group. The changes of C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6) and nutrition indicators were monitored before and after treatment. Results Compared with the control group, the levels of CRP and IL-6 of the statin treatment group were significantly increased, while plasma albumin(ALB) and hemoglobin(Hb) were significantly decreased.24 weeks after treatment, the levels of CRP,IL-6,serum creatinine(Scr) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN) of the statin treatment group were significantly decreased, while the levels of Alb and Hb were significantly increased.Compared with the pre-treatment and control group, the difference was statistically significant.Meanwhile Alb,Hb and Ccr in the control group showed a downward trend. There were no significant changes in the two groups in terms of creatinine clearance. Conclusion Simvastatin treatment can inhibit the micro-inflammatory response of the uremic non-dialysis and improve nutritional status.
