摘　　要：诺贝尔文学奖获得者约翰·斯坦贝克不但是一位伟大的现实主义作家,还是一位有着深刻的生态忧患意识的田园作家。他的《斯坦贝克携犬横越美国》就流露了深刻的生态忧思和浓浓的田园情结:对美好过去的深情回忆,对优美乡村景色的细致描写,对现代城市颓废、堕落、浪费等现代消费文化所造成的狂乱和肮脏表达了最强烈的谴责和无情的抨击,并就现代人的生活方式向我们发出了严肃的生态预警。John Steinbeck, the Nobel Prize Winner, is not only a great realist writer, but also a pastoral writer with deep eco-concerns. For example, his travel book, Travel with Charley in Search of America, expresses his very strong pastoral complex： good memory of the beautiful past, depiction of the fine countryside scenery and his most powerful attack on the craziness and filthiness caused by the decadence, degeneration and waste of modern cities. And at the same time, he also sends out serious eco-warnings to us as far as the life style of modern man is concerned.
