摘　　要："在而不是"揭示了早期创造社作家的精神困境,他们不属于现代日本,也不属于传统中国。而"怨夫"形象就是"在而不是"的精神表征,作为中国人的痛苦,作为现代男性的无力,作为现代职业者的自我否定,揭示了"怨夫"们与周围环境的不协调。他们是奔跑在路上、苦苦寻找着自我的飘零者。面对生活与爱的渴望,他们感到生命的无力与无奈,却又在苦苦追寻"是之为是"的自己,从而塑造了中国现代文学上的新人。＂To be but not to be＂ reveals the early creation society writers ＂ spiritual dilemma. They did not belong to the modem Japan, nor did belong to traditional China. It reveals that the ＂resentful persons＂ do not coordi- nate with the surrounding environment. In the face of life and the desire for love, they feel the weakness and help- less of life.
