摘  要:成立于1922年的华西边疆研究学会,是中国近代第一个以华西边疆研究为宗旨的国际学术机构。它重点考察川西北、川康、川藏及滇北民族地区,研究内容涉及人文自然科学领域,其成果至今在海内外论著中仍有很高的"引用率"。在中西方文化交流中,该学会是华西文化西渐之先驱。1930年初,学会开始吸纳中国学者加入,开启学会本土化进程。40年代中国学者成为学会学术研究及组织机构中的主力,展示了学会本土化发展趋势。Founded in 1922, the West China Border Research Society was the first international academic institution aiming at studying the West China frontier in modern times. It serves as a unique milestone in the history of modem West China culture. Focusing on the ethnic minority areas, namely, northwestern Siehuan, Siehuan and Tibet border (Chuankang and Chuanzang), and north Yunnan, the Wost China Border Research Society conducted studies in both the humanities and natural science. With fruitful achievements and high aca- demic value, those researches still enjoys high "citation performance" in the works bo, th at home and abroad. During the culture exchange between the east and west, the Society acted as the pioneer of spreading West China culture to the west. Starting in the early 1930s, Chinese scholars were allowed to join in the Society, initiating its localization process. By the 1940s, Chinese scholars had become the major force in the Society, helping it successfully adapt to the local environment.
