摘　　要：The film The Color Purple mainly talks about the bitter situation of oppression and discrimination of American black wom-en through the life of protagonist Celie, and Celie’s spiritual journey of becoming awaken gradually and independent, and at last gain her own new life. Another black woman Sofia in the film has confidence, independence and fighting spirit. This paper will analyzes Sofia’s three personalities from the perspective of Freudian psychoanalysis, especially his theory of personality which divides the psyche into the id, the self, and the superego so as to better understand black wom-en’inner world in the oppression and discrimination society.The film The Color Purple mainly talks about the bitter situation of oppression and discrimination of American black women through the life of protagonist Celie, and Celie＇s spiritual journey of becoming awaken gradually and independent, and at last gain her own new life.
