合法性与冠名权:明清时期关于“唐宋八大家”名称之争

摘　　要：明清时期,关于"唐宋八大家"名称的论争集中于合法性和冠名权两个方面。茅坤为唐宋八大家所立的共性是道统与文统的混合物,不尽符合八大家的实际情况,论争即由此而起。或者认为茅坤所立共性不实,而且择人不当;或者剥去八大家的道统光环,将其还原为文人。择人不当论者认为,曾巩、苏辙的文学成就与其他六家不称;持不同意见者则突破以成就论高下的成见,从风格的视角重新论证八大家组合的合理性。至于冠名权,或声称茅坤盗袭他人,或将八大家得名源头上溯至明初乃至宋元,大旨在于归美前贤,不甘心将冠名权独让茅坤。The academic controversy in Ming and Qing period about the tile of the Eight Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties focused on its validity and ownership.As far as a literary school is concerned,only when commonality is established can it be validated.The commonality defined by MAO kun was a compound of confucianists and litterateurs,which couldn＇t fully accord with the facts about the Eight Masters.As a result,the controversy arose.Some scholars argued that the commonality defined by MAO kun was not absolutely true and the masters he chose were not completely matched.While some other scholars deprived the Eight Masters of the glory as confucianists and reduced them only to litterateurs,according to which they concluded that they could be regarded as literary masters in spite of the fact that they were flawy when viewed as confucianists.Some critics thought ZEN Gong and SU Zhe were not as great as the other masters,while others insisted that the members of the group were well matched when considered from their different writing styles,thereby breaking the old way of judging litterateurs solely by their literary achievements.As for the ownership of the tile,some claimed that MAO kun stole the title from others,and some traced the source of the title to the early years of Ming dynasty or even Yuan and Song dynasties.However,they both intended to attribute the ownership of the title to ancient predecessors rather than MAO kun proper.
