摘　　要：奥斯汀的小说之所以200年来一直脍炙人口,为世界各国读者所持续喜爱(在中国大陆,仅《傲慢与偏见》就有十几种译本),其重要原因之一就是这些小说给读者带来唯物主义认识论方面的启迪。纵观奥斯汀的六部小说,其中主要人物的塑造和发展都是在如何认识自己、如何认识他人、如何认识世界的过程中完成的。不过,这个过程的描绘总能令读者愉悦,因为奥斯汀巧妙地寓谆谆教诲于幽默的反讽,她的表达既生动活泼又痛下针砭,取得了艺术与教导的完美统一。One of the important reasons why Austen＇s novels have been so popular for more than 200 years（for example,there are a dozen translations of Pride and Prejudice in the China's Mainland）,is that these novels give readers a materialism epistemological inspiration.She shaped the main characters in the process of how to understand himself,how to understand others,and how to understand the world in all her six novels.However,this process is depicted always make readers pleasure because Austin skillfully blended humorous irony inculcating in her expression of both lively and painfully,which made the perfect unity of art and teaching.
