摘　　要：论述了纸媒传播时代科技期刊的7项功能——传播扩散、公布保护展示、保存传承、把关控制、筛选集萃、加工提升、评价裁判;这7项功能中根据属性的不同,有的属于期刊的基本功能,有的属于衍生功能。在分析当前网络学术资源传播开放集成共享的现状的基础上,论述了新环境中科技期刊功能转位趋向,即原来的基本功能将被弱化甚至替代,衍生功能势必上升为主要功能。期刊人只有对此有所认识,才能适应变化,应对挑战。This paper firstly makes a summary of seven functions of sci-tech periodicals in the paper-based communication age as follows： 1） communication and dissemination,2） publication,protection and display,3） preservation and relay,4） gate keeping and control,5） selection and assembly,6） editing and improvement,and 7） referee and assessment.Some of the functions are essential and some are derived.Then after analyzing the developing situation of open,collection and common sharing of scholarly resources in internet environment,it points out the tendency of essential functions that are now taking place or being weakened and the derived functions that are changing to be essential.Journal publishers should be aware of the shift so that they can deal with the challenges from the new environment.
