摘　　要：美国世界一流大学的竞技水平也堪称世界一流,且不论学校大小及综合实力强弱,不论公立还是私立及管理方式如何,不论是否设运动奖学金及运动成绩高低,都能秉承大学体育宗旨,积极开展竞技体育并取得显著的社会效益。研究美国世界一流大学竞技体育的主要特征,对于我国高校竞技体育的发展具有重要参考意义。The study of major features of athletics in world-class universities in the U.S is meaningful for developing athletics in universities in China because athletics of world-class universities in the U.S has also reached the world top level whether these schools are private or public, whether there are scholarships for athletics or whether the athletic performances are high or low. The key point is that these schools are loyal to the purposes of school athletics and achieve obvious social effects.
