摘　　要：文章介绍了美国物理核心期刊《物理评论》的创办背景.从物理学发展、科学期刊出版、美国高等教育改革三个角度叙述了19世纪末期的时代特征.结合美国科学研究水平的进步和高等教育发展的进程,说明《物理评论》的创办是美国物理学发展的里程碑.The paper introduces the background of Physics key journal,Physical Review.Based on the development of physics,scientific journals＇ publishing and American higher education＇s reform,the paper describes the characteristics of the era of the late 19th century.With the progress of scientific research and the development of the higher education,the founder of Physical Review is a milestone in the development of American physics.
