Objective To analyze the treatment effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty on the elderly osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures. Methods Selected 65 elderly patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures, according to the operation code randomly divided into observation group and control group,33 patients in observation group were treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty and 32 patients in control group were treated with conservative therapy. After three months of treatment,VAS score, the recovery of vertebral height of leading and trailing edges,Cobb's angle correction and complications were compared between the groups. Results After treatment, the VAS scores were lower than before in two groups, but the observation group was more obvious than the control group, the difference has statistical significance(P0.05).The vertebral height of leading and trailing edges, improve situation of Cobb's angle were better in observation group, the difference has statistical significance(P0.05).Complications in two groups showed no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous vertebroplasty on the elderly osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures showed good effects.
