On the use of interception baskets to prevent road gully runoff pollution in Xi'an

摘  要:结合西安市路面径流水质、水量特征及道路雨水口设置,设计道路雨水口截污装置——截污挂篮,试验研究截污挂篮的透水性能、工作状态、截污效果及清洗更换周期。结果表明,为避免在5 a一遇暴雨下道路积水,截污挂篮上部溢流孔孔口面积应至少0.009 8m2。土工布的过滤通量与过滤水头呈线性关系,随单位面积质量增加,土工布的透水能力下降。为确保在5 a一遇暴雨下截污挂篮不发生溢流,由300 g/m2、150 g/m2和130 g/m2土工布制作的截污网袋需至少保证175mm、94mm、75mm的有效过滤高度,且截污挂篮对路面径流颗粒物的平均去除率分别为76.5%、69.4%和56.0%。The present paper is aimed at providing a detailed analysis and the applicability of the interception device known as the interception basket for preventing the road gullys in Xi’an, Shaanxi, in order to reduce the road runoff pollution and improve the water quality of runoff. The urban water-runoff is the second pollution source which can bring serious impact on the urban water quality and therefore it has been studied since 1970s in the western countries though little attention has been paid to in our country. From the point of view of the environmental protection, it can be said that a lot of various pollutants has been caused by the road runoff, such as the particulate matter, the organic nutrients, heavy metal ingredients and so on, among which the particulate matters should be regarded as the chief carriers for other pollutants. And, it is for this reason, the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States, short for USEPA, has reenforced its management policy and practical measures in controlling the runoff pollution since 1976 with nonpoint source pollution controlled successfully. And, consequently, great reduction of the corresponding resource pollution has been achieved, which has in turn promoted the establishment of effective economic methods. The effective practices of the Americans in this way can serve a succefful example in this connection. In recent years, although studies on road runoff pollution in our country has gained significant development and some researchers have laid down basic work in this way, rare results and available technological devices have been gained on the practical pollution control for the prevention. To overcome this inefficiency and meet the practical controlling demand, we have designed an interception basket device to be applied to road gully in Xi’an city in this paper and made systematic studies on the runoff quality, precipitation characteristics on the road gullies in accordance with Xi’an actual situation.
