摘　　要：ATM和IP是目前应用非常广泛的两种组网技术),二者各有自己的优点和缺点。 随着用户对综合业务网络需求的不断增强,ATM和IP的融合成为未来网络技术发展的趋势。ATM与IP的融合有多种方式,MPLS是其中被公认为最有前途的一种方案。本文对MPLS的基本概念,工作原理,交换过程等作了一个系统的介绍。ATM and IP are the most popular networking technology nowadays. However, they both have advantages and disadvantages, repectively. With the stronger and stronger requirement for integrated services data network, it seems that the merging of ATM and IP, among which, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is the most promising one. This paper introduces the basic concepts, working principle and switching process of MPLS.
