摘　　要：选取Google的Gmail邮箱为例,分析电子邮件中个人信息管理的3个主要应用:任务管理、个人信息归档、联系信息管理;并结合国外已有研究成果,分析总结出当前电子邮件作为个人信息管理工具所面临的问题和解决对策;同时,从电子邮件所面临的新的挑战、新的技术和新的改变这三方面来总结未来电子邮件在个人信息管理中的应用前景。Selecting Gmail as an example,this paper analysed email＇s usage for three main PIM functions：task management,personal archiving and contact management;Based on the foreign existing research results,it presented problems arising from email＇s critical role in PIM and the countermeasures to these questions;meanwhile,made a conclusion about the future of email and PIM in three aspects：new challenge,new technology and new change.
