摘 要:英汉词汇的外层由明示的词音、词义等组成,直接参与交际活动,属于语言界;中层由意念的理据构成,管约着词语创制行为,属于认知界;里层由经验的社会因素聚成,是词汇和其理据生成的原料,属于现实界。这三层共同构造出一种语义三角关系,与当代认知语言学坚持的"语言.心智.现实"的基本原则一致。中层的理据位于三角关系之顶点,关联着语言界与现实界之间的互动,因此我们可采用词源追寻、语素义辨析、内部形式探求等操作方法,考察理据是如何促进语言专业学生进行英汉词汇习得活动的。The surface layer of words is made up of the explicit elements like the lexical sound and meaning which concern the actual communication,and so it constitutes the linguistic world.The middle layer of words is made up of psycological motivations which govern the lexical formation,and so it constitutes the cognitive world.The deep layer of words is made up of socio-factors which provide the generation of words and their motivations with impetus,and so it constitutes the real world.The three layers construct a semantic triangle which corresponds to the principle of "language·mind·reality" that cognitive linguistics has adhered to.Being at the top node of the triangle,lexical motivations command the interplay between the linguistic and the real world,and therefore we can justifiably explore how a motivation-based approach facilitates the acquisition of both English and Chinese vocabulary in terms of tracing etymons,clarifying morpheme meanings or illuminating internal forms.
