摘　　要：提出了一种基于小波变换的多描述视频编码方法。该方法通过将小波变换后的系数进行多描述标量量化产生互有冗余的两路描述,这两路描述在相互独立并有丢包的信道中传输,在解码端,利用两路描述中的冗余信息进行联合解码。实验结果表明在高码率和高丢包率时,该方法的率失真性能高于H.264、MPEG-2、MJPEG2000单描述编码方案。Wavelet based multiple description video coding algorithm is proposed in this paper. Each frame is first transformed with a discrete wavelet transform and the resulting frequency bands are quantized with a multiple description scalar quantizer. Two descriptions with redundancy were constructed and transmitted independently over lossy channels. Joint decoding is performed by utilizing the redundant information of the two descriptions. The experi- mental results demonstrated that the rate-distortion performance of the presented method is higher than H. 264, MPEG-2, MJPEG2000 single description video coding methods under the situation of high bitrate and high lossrate.
