摘　　要：Today, more than 2,000 astronomers from all over the world gather together in Beijing to attend the 28^th General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union （IAU）. This is a grand event for astronomy. It is the first time for China to host an IAU General Assembly since China joined the IAU in 1935.
