摘　　要：通过分析爱默生精神与美国文化的关系,哈罗德·布鲁姆发现,爱默生就是"美国心灵",具体表现为:爱默生就是美国哲学的创立者;爱默生的"自立"精神就是"美国宗教"的真谛;对于作为迟来者的美国文学来说,爱默生就是美国文学的理论家。布鲁姆对爱默生的这一定位无疑是正确的,但其背后隐藏的却是布鲁姆深沉的"美国情结"。Harold Bloom says Emerson is the ＂American heart＂ by analyzing the relationship between Emerson＇s spirit and American culture. It is shown in three aspects. First, Emerson is the founder of the American philosophy. Second, his self- reliance spirit is the essence of the American Religion. Third, he is the theorist of the American literature. Undoubtedly, Bloom＇s opinions on Emerson are right. Yet, what we feel from his analysis is Bloom＇s deep ＂American complex＂.
