Gudao Oilfield of Shengli is a fluvial rhythm reservoir deposited in positive rhythm under fluvial facies with high permeability and high oil saturation. The paper presents the study on residual oil saturation distribution after the oilfield is recovered by using horizontal wells and analyzes swept pore volume percentage for low, moderate and high permeability formations respectively by means of physical simulation and NMR.The experiment results show that the horizontal wells can effectively control the residual oil on top region during high water cut period, especially control the region of main stream line and around horizontal wells;and recovered percentage is mostly contributed by centre region and is mainly in high water cut period.Oil saturation is distributed uniformly in moderate to large pores, however, oil saturation varies greatly in small pores during high water cut period.During water flooding, the oil in large pores is preferentially swept;when oil saturation becomes 38%,the oil in small pores is swept;and when oil saturation gets to 25%,the swept percentage for small pores is even greater than in large pores due to imbibition of small pores.
