摘　　要：中国的城市化为什么要采取以大城市为主体、以中小城市为辅的战略模式?从人类城市进化论、中国特色发展、社会变迁和生活方式的多重视角加以研究,认为大城市是人类进步与进化方式的集中表现形式,全球城市化和城市全球化已经成为社会发展潮流;城市病是一种世界性普遍疾病,大城市的问题不仅仅是自身问题,而且是社会整体问题深刻化的集中反映,尤其在中国,大城市成为现实城乡和城乡间社会问题的集中地和表现地;大城市的发展是人类发展的归宿型模式,社会分工、耕地缩减与人口增长的矛盾、市民社会与国家现代化的需求等因素决定了中国的未来必须走大城市化之路。Why the urbanization in China follows the strategic mode in which metropolises are the subject and medium and small cities are the auxiliary？ The research is conducted from multi- prospects including the urban evolutionary theory, development of the Chinese characteristics, social change and the lifestyle and it is considered that metropolises are the collective expression of the progress and patterns of evolution of human beings; global urbanization and urban globalization have become the tide of social development and the urban disease is a worldwide epidemic. The problems confronted by the metropolises are not only theirs but the collective reflection of the deepening of the overall social problems, especially in China where metropolises have become the collective and expressive places between the urban and rural areas and the social problems between the urban and rural area^s in the real world. Development of metropolises is the final mode in the development of human beings; social work division, contradictions between the reduction of arable land and population growth, demands of the citizens, the society and urbanization of the nation as well as other factors decide that the future China has to take the road of giving priority to the metropolises.
