摘　　要：《寻找格林先生》是当代美国著名的犹太作家、诺贝尔奖得主索尔·贝娄的短篇佳作。小说围绕一位犹太知识分子在贫民窟中寻找社会救济金领取者的事件展开,向读者展示了一个当代美国犹太人探寻生存意义的心路历程。小说中不同人物持有不同的人生态度。贝娄通过对这些人物的细致刻画,向读者传达了他的人生哲学观。Looking for Mr. Green is one of the excellent short stories by Saul Bellow, the famous American Jewish writer and Nobel Literature Prize winner. The story is unfolded around the event of a Jewish American intellectual looking for the social relief taker in the Negro slum, which reflects a contemporary American Jews＇s mental course during seeking the meaning of life. By comparing and contrasting different characters＂ attitudes towards life, this paper explores the philosophy of life conveyed in Looking for Mr. Green.
